About Activities

Q. I’m a first-timer. Can I still join?

     A. Yes, beginners are welcome. A safety briefing will be given before the activity, so please feel assure.

Q. Is it okay if I cannot swim?

    A. Yes, you can still participate. For all water activities, you will wear a life jacket (PFD). Even if you fall into the river or lake, you will stay afloat.

Q. Are there age or eligibility restrictions?

    A. Each course has specific participation requirements. Please check the activity details of each course. There is no maximum age limit. We have welcomed participants in their late 70s as long as they are in good health.

Q. Will the activity be canceled if it rains?

    A. All activities except hot air ballooning operate even in rainy weather. However, river courses may be canceled if the water level exceeds safety standards. Lake activities such as Canadian canoeing or clear kayaks may also be canceled depending on rainfall, as water can accumulate in the boats.

About What to Bring

Q. What should I bring?

     A. For water activities, please bring swimwear, shoes you don’t mind getting wet, a towel, and a change of clothes. For more details, please check the “What to Wear” section under each activity.

Q. Do you rent marine shoes?

     A. Yes, available at the Rafting and Lake Aoki venues for ¥300 per pair.

Q. Do you rent swimsuits?

     A. Sorry, swimsuits are not available for rent at the rafting venue. Please bring your own.

Q. Do you rent towels?

     A. Sorry, towels are not available for rent. However, we do sell original face towels.

Q. Do you rent wetsuits?

     A. For river activities, wetsuits are included in the participation fee. At Lake Aoki, a wetsuit set (top & bottom) is available for rent for ¥1,000.

About Facilities

Q. Is parking available?

     A. Yes, free parking spaces are available at each venue. If you are coming in a group, we appreciate carpooling.

Q. Are showers available?

     A. Yes, hot showers are available at the rafting venue. Lake Aoki does not have showers, so please bring a towel to dry off.

Q. Can you keep valuables for me?

     A. At Kawanoeki Sazanami and Lake Aoki venues, please use coin lockers. At Echoland Base, there are dedicated lockers for valuables. Car keys can be left at the reception desk.

Q. Are there changing rooms?

     A. Yes, both the rafting and Lake Aoki venues have separate changing rooms for men and women. Time for changing is provided after check-in.

Q. Do you provide shuttle service?

     A. Yes, we provide free shuttle service for the Summer Firefly Lake Tour, Night Lake Tour, and Winter Snowmobile Tour within Hakuba Village or to the nearest spot. For Kawanoeki Sazanami and Lake Aoki, shuttle service may be available depending on reservations. Please inquire in advance.

Q. Are there restaurants nearby?

     A. Yes, there is a restaurant inside Kawanoeki Sazanami. At Lake Aoki, the café ao LAKESIDE CAFE is located adjacent to the venue.

About Reservations

Q. Can I book on the same day?

     A. Yes, if there are available spots. However, if the tour is full or not operating, we may not be able to accommodate you. We recommend checking availability online and making your booking by 3:00 PM the day before.

Q. What payment methods are available?

     A. We accept cash, credit cards, and PayPay. For online reservations, advance payment is required to speed up the check-in process. If paying at the hot air balloon venue, please prepare cash.

Q. Do cancellation fees apply?

     A. Yes, our cancellation policy applies:
     ・6–2 days before: 30%
     ・1 day before: 50%
     ・Same day: 100%
     (This applies to cancellations due to illness, transport delays, or reduction in participant numbers.)
